Lucas Tasquetto

Biography
Lucas da Silva Tasquetto is a professor in the Bachelor’s and Postgraduate Program in International Relations at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC). He serves as the coordinator of the working group on trade, business, and investments at the Jean Monnet Module, hosted by the Brazil-European Union Institute at FECAP. Additionally, he coordinates the working group on international trade at the Observatory of Foreign Policy and Brazil’s International Insertion (OPEB) at UFABC.
With a Ph.D. in International Relations from the Institute of International Relations at the University of São Paulo (USP), including a sandwich scholarship at King’s College London, Lucas has furthered his academic journey with postdoctoral studies at the Postgraduate Program in Law at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS).
Lucas holds a master’s degree in Law from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and a bachelor’s degree in Law from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). Previously, he was a professor in the International Relations program at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP). He has also contributed as a researcher at the Global Law Center of the Law School at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV DIREITO SP) and the Center for Global Trade and Investments at the School of Economics of São Paulo at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/EESP).
His academic pursuits primarily focus on Public International Law, Human Rights, and International Trade, with current research interests revolving around the architecture of the digital economy: digital trade, digital rights, and the regulation of new technologies. Lucas actively engages with civil society organizations, monitoring international negotiations and advocating for an agenda at the intersection of international trade and digital rights.
