                        Description

Established in São Paulo, Brazil, the Instituto Ethos (Ethos Institute) is a nongovernmental and nonprofit organization that seeks to strengthen corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development by offering business opportunities which establish a commitment to social activities. Led by Oded Grajew, co-founder of the World Social Forum, a group of businessmen founded the Institute Ethos in February 1998. Grajew, a successful Ashoka fellow who also established the ABRINQ Foundation, became the organization’s first president. Nowadays, Instituto Ethos has many partner organizations throughout the world and operates based on four major areas: Human Rights, Management for Sustainable Development, Integrity and Environment. Within the scope of this CoE, we would act to mobilize, raise awareness and help business enterprises manage their businesses in a socially responsible manner, focusing on the “human rights” axis. Currently, the Instituto Ethos has more than 450 member companies, which we highlight: Alcoa; Natura; Hydro; Shell; Amazon; Anglo American; Carrefour; IFood; JBS; Odebrecht; Petrobras; Raízen; Santander; Totvs; Accenture; Aché; Alston; Brasken; Eurofarma; Lóreal; Mercedes-Benz; Novelis; White Martins; Coca-Cola; Vale; Ambev; Avon; Cyrela; Duratex; KPMG; Leroy Merlin; Mc Donnald’s; Nestlé; PwC; Sodexo; among others.
